What is this song about?:
Berlin fall 2017, I had fallen in love with someone from Florida. He lived in the Neukölln area of Berlin, and I often rode on my bicycle to or from his apartment, along a beautiful canal, with the most romantic little, blue walking bridge, called "Elsen Steg" . And I thought, this is a place to meet a lover for a rendezvous!
People would gather there for sunset. Mee, friends, chat, laugh and drink beer or wine from a nearby Späti (a Berlin kiosk/shop phenomenon, open all night, where people gather to buy a drink and hang out with friends.)
So I was feeling romantic...
Then I left for India, not knowing if we were gonna get together when i returned to Europe. I was in Northern India in a meditation retreat. It was a wonderful place in the Himalayas, with mountains, forest, big lakes, and almost no people. . At night, walking from the meditation hall to my room, I found myself standing looking at the moon, and thinking, same moon, is he looking at the moon? Same moon as in Florida...
lyrics
Come and meet me - At the blue bridge - Where the divided city meets
We’ll dwell for a while - Just a moment in time
When the sun rests it’s eyes - Then we’ll part
chorus:
In the mountains - In the woods over the ridge I see the moon
Oh that moon! Rises in Florida too.
dumdumdum….
Come and meet me at the blue bridge -the sorrow in my heart that you chose to leave
My longing is pinned as stars to the skies- those solemn suns in the pale moonlight
chorus:
In the mountains - In the woods over the ridge I see the moon
Oh that moon! Rises in Florida too.
dumdumdum….
BRIDGE:
Oh Babe - do you look at that moon - Oh - do you see what I see
Oh I know In my secret heart of hearts - We’re together when we’re apart
dumdumdum….
Come and meet me at the blue bridge - Where the divided city meets
In the night of dreamers I walk on my own - but in my heart of hearts I’ll never be alone
chorus:
In the mountains - In the woods over the ridge I see the moon
Oh that moon! Rises in Florida too.
dumdumdum….
