What this song is about:
This Is It! The Brazilian Guru Prem Baba would say, scanning the packed room with his warm gaze, we were sitting in the meditation hall in Rishikesh, Northern India, listening to his wisdom. He would talk about Deep, complex questions of love, relating, family, trauma, and people from all walks of life would travel each year to come together in Rishikesh for a few weeks, to listen to him, be a sangha, sing together, do yoga, meditate, live and laugh together.
Those words of wisdom, of suffering, of human life, they took a lot to comprehend. With “THIS IS IT“, he reminded us that we were right there, in that moment. That this is life. That everything is happening in the present moment, always.
I composed the song with all the polarites I could think of, and made a fun little clapping choir with friends. We recorded the song in Copenhagen in my dad's study, and the choir in Berlin in various studios.
